River and Road as one.

As US 34 was rebuild from the 2013 flood one stubborn corner, horseshoe bend, refused to be contained. The engineering solution was to let the river flow and build over the bend. To celebrate the opening of the road and the resilience of the valley community I created 135 small pieces from the old guardrail. Cover photo credit Jenny Sparks. 2018 Article
